Innovation.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Department of English and Humanities at DCC invites applications for part-time faculty in English Composition.</p> <p>The department is searching for instructors for the Fall 2026 semester to teach the following courses:</p> <ul> <li>ENG 101 - Composition I (3 lecture contact hours/week) </li><li>ENG 003 - Composition I Module (3 lecture contact hours/week) </li></ul> <p>Courses are in-person at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at DCC @ Fishkill. Courses are offered during the day. Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master of Arts in English or related field</p> </li><li> <p>Official academic transcripts required upon hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective interpersonal and communication skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching at the college level, particularly at a community college. </li><li>Experience working with developmental writers. </li><li>A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction. </li><li>Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Professional Letters of Reference required.</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site. </li><li>Courses are held at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at DCC @ Fishkill. </li><li>Courses are held during the day. </li></ul> <p>Classification:</p> <p>Dutchess United Educators (DUE), Part-Time Educator</p> <p>Salary at negotiated rate, starting at:</p> <p>$1,499 per lecture contact hour (Instructor, Step 1)</p> <p>All applicants are subject to a background check to include criminal, employment, and education.</p> <p>Dutchess Community College is an AA/EOE employer.
