<p>Division: Within the Maintenance Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA</p> <p>The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.</p> <p>ELMHS is looking for a motivated individual to join the Maintenance department as an Electrician with knowledge in the installation and maintenance of wiring systems, switches, receptacles, and lighting.</p> <p>Two years of experience or training in the electrical trade.</p> <p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Install, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance of wiring systems, switches, receptacles and lighting.   </li><li>Assist in the rewiring of staff residences, run's additional circuits when necessary.   </li><li>Pull electrical wire, runs conduit, installs ceiling fans, range vent hoods, restroom exhaust fans.   </li><li>Install generators and transformers and transfer switches.  </li><li>Perform preventive maintenance rounds on all buildings checking for loose wires, checking receptacles for tension and condition to ensure proper function.   </li><li>Check electrical cord outlet devices.   </li><li>Maintain records on lock out tag out.   </li><li>Maintain a valid, unencumbered driver's license.   </li></ul> <p>Position-Specific Details:</p> <p>Appointment Type:  Probational or Promotional</p> <p>Compensation: This position is eligible for a $2.00 Weekday On-Call pay and a $2.10 Weekend/Holiday On-Call pay.</p> <p>How To Apply:</p> <p>No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.  </p> <p>To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
