<p>If you are a Product Safety Certification Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Emerson Tool Company is seeking to grow our product safety team. You will work in an exciting, multi-functional design environment, with a company that financially recognizes patentable contributions. Emerson Tool Company proudly makes RIDGID and ProTeam cleaning solutions.</p> <p>In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:</p> <ul> <li>Manage the product safety certification approval process and act as a liaison between Emerson Tool Company and the nationally recognized test laboratories (NRTL) such as UL, TUV, NOM, ETL, etc. </li><li>Interact with and support new product development teams to ensure the electromechanical design, components, and materials of products are suitable and documented as required for agency approval. </li><li>Maintain existing product certifications </li><li>Review and approve Quick Installation Guides, instruction manuals, and product warning labels with respect to agency standards and corporate requirements. </li><li>Create and implement certification test plans in accordance with applicable agency standards. </li><li>Work collaboratively with design engineers and lab technicians in the support of product testing and evaluations. Prepare test requests, determine test configurations, and provide guidance for testing implementation. </li><li>Review testing results, compile test reports and create the construction description for agency acceptance. </li><li>Maintain product safety database and files including claims, advisories, lawsuits, Consumer Safety Product Commission Retailer report, etc. </li><li>Support and lead agency projects including new products into the market and updates to existing product files. </li><li>Work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional new product development team, providing guidance on product safety and agency requirements. </li><li>Develop working knowledge and provide functional guidance for standards like UL1017, UL2595, UL507, IEC60335, or similar appliance standards. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are:</p> <p>You determine the necessary processes to get things done. You persist in the face of challenges and setbacks.</p> <p>For This Role, You Will Need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field </li><li>Minimum of 5 years experience in agency approval and certification processes </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication </li><li>Excellent organization and time management skills </li><li>Knowledgeable at interpreting North American agency safety standards and internal test procedures </li><li>Experience in product certification from a nationally recognized testing laboratory </li><li>Legal Authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:</p> <ul> <li>8 or more years of experience in agency approval and certification processes </li><li>Knowledgeable at interpreting North American agency safety standards and internal test procedures - Specifically UL1017 and UL2595. </li><li>Extensive experience in consumer and commercial product certification processes </li></ul> <p>Our Culture & Commitment to You:</p> <p>At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
