<p>Certifying Scientist</p> <p>We are seeking a talented Certifying Scientist to join our laboratory team in Indianapolis,</p> <p>IN. This is an on-site position only. The Certifying Scientist ensures legal defensibility of scientific data generated in a</p> <p>technical, high volume, laboratory operation. This position is primarily responsible for the</p> <p>initial and secondary review of data produced on Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometers</p> <p>(LCMSMS) instrumentation, in addition to the final analytical review and release of Final Result</p> <p>reports.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to: Initial review of calibration curves and QC data, evaluating</p> <p>donor results against acceptance criteria, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, feedback to</p> <p>the confirmations team on instrument performance, communication with upstream departments, record</p> <p>keeping and enforcement of acceptance criteria policies and procedures.</p> <p>This position reports to the Confirmations Manager.</p> <p>One position will work: T-Sat with T-Fri from 5:30a-2p and?Sat. from 8a-4:30p</p> <p>One position will work: T-Sat with T-Fri 2p-10:30p and Sat from 12p-8:30p</p> <p>Salary range: $55000-$60000</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>? Initial daily startup of instrumentation including daily maintenance</p> <p>? Loading prepared confirmations batches on instrumentation</p> <p>? Initial review of Confirmation data from LCMSMS instrumentation</p> <p>? Final review and release of confirmation data</p> <p>? Final report review and release</p> <p>? Provide feedback to maintenance team on assay integrity and performance</p> <p>? Conducts daily/weekly/monthly maintenance in accordance with standard operating procedure</p> <p>guidelines</p> <p>? Provides troubleshooting and minor instrument repair as needed</p> <p>? Prepares standards and reagents for the confirmations department as needed</p> <p>? Assists with research and development efforts</p> <p>? Responsible for meeting minimum productivity requirements</p> <p>? Adheres to forensic documentation handling and chain of custody procedures and</p> <p>requirements</p> <p>? Applies knowledge and skills to produce quality work and facilitate meeting TAT goals</p> <p>? Directs efforts towards production areas that need assistance</p> <p>? Personal accountability for attendance, productivity, training, and technical incidents</p> <p>? Collaborate with operations leadership to solve work-related problems within or between</p> <p>departments and sites, answering and resolving questions/issues daily</p> <p>? Participates in employee training for equipment, software, and other laboratory</p> <p>operations.</p> <p>? Assist leadership with auditing and maintaining for the Certifying department: SOPs,</p> <p>regulations, best practices, guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures in coordination with</p> <p>the Scientific Director and Laboratory manager</p> <p>? Complies with all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and best practices for: Clinical</p> <p>Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), safety,</p> <p>environmental, hazardous materials, equipment, and security</p> <p>? Ensure that all work is complete, accurate and meets our high-quality standards</p> <p>? Responsible to maintain all safeguards as it pertains to Protected health information</p> <p>(PHI)</p> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <p>? Special projects as assigned</p> <p>? All other duties as assigned</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>? Possess a bachelor?s degree in a science field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology,</p> <p>Pre-med (Biomed), & some specialty majors (Forensics or Toxicology) depending on the amount of</p> <p>science credits completed) required plus 2-year lab experience</p> <p>? Previous experience (2+ years) with chromatography evaluation and certification of results</p> <p>required</p> <p>? Experience with both Agilent and Waters LCMSMS platforms, operation and maintenance</p> <p>preferred</p> <p>? Knowledge of CAP and CLIA desirable</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>? High degree of computer literacy</p> <p>? Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems software</p> <p>? Knowledge of CLIA and CAP (highly desirable)</p> <p>?
