<p>Principal Function: The Kitchen Staff are responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, organization, and cleanliness of all food operations within the kitchen.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare, cook, assemble, and expedite food items according to established recipes and standards. </li><li>Assist in receiving, storing, rotating, and organizing food products and supplies. </li><li>Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation throughout service. </li><li>Understand and adhere to all food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during preparation, service, and cleanup procedures. </li><li>Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance needs. </li><li>Perform end-of-day cleaning tasks including dishwashing, equipment breakdown and cleaning, sweeping, mopping, waste removal, and restocking. </li><li>Assist with special event setup, including moving kitchen equipment, prepping ingredients, and completing additional tasks as assigned. </li><li>Support a positive guest experience by ensuring high-quality food production and representing Conner Prairie with pride and professionalism. </li><li>Adhere to Conner Prairie's rules of conduct. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience: Experience in a kitchen, food service, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required. Working knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen procedures is preferred. A valid food handler certification is also preferred; if not already certified, candidates must be willing to obtain certification upon hire.</p>
