<p>Manager of Grants and Purchasing</p> <p>Hendrix College is seeking a full-time, 12-month Manager of Grants & Purchasing. Reporting to the Assistant Controller & Director of Financial Reporting, the Manager of Grants & Purchasing will serve as the primary point of contact for faculty and staff that have been awarded internal and external grants and contracts. The position will be responsible for bookkeeping functions related to all grants and will perform reporting requirements to external agencies. This position is responsible for coordinating institutional purchasing guidelines and institutional budgets and reports, including departmental and capital budgets. Additionally, s/he will be assigned specific duties that will benefit the goals of the Business Office and the programs of Hendrix College.</p> <p>POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Maintain budgets of internal and external grants. </li><li>Assist faculty with financial reports aspects of grants. </li><li>Perform daily grant accounting and monthly reconciliations of grants. </li><li>Manage grants to ensure compliance with all grant terms and conditions. </li><li>Review and update purchasing policies to maintain integrity of internal control processes around the accounts payable cycle. </li><li>Assist with the budget process & work with the other Business Office staff to compile yearly operating & capital budgets. </li><li>Assist in internal monthly financial reporting, including but not limited to budget forecasting. </li><li>Perform monthly departmental budget review and prepare appropriate reports. </li><li>Monitor major construction project costs as well as minor capital budget costs. </li><li>Develop financial spreadsheets/reports as needed. </li><li>Prepare journal entries and budget transfers. </li><li>Assist with monthly and year-end closing processes and year-end audit preparation. </li><li>Make presentations to College and outside constituencies as needed. </li><li>Serve on College committees as required. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:</p> <p>Education and Professional Experience and Designations:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum three years of relevant work experience is required. </li></ul> <p>Skills Required:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality is essential. </li><li>Excellent Communication (verbal and written) skills - ability to interact and communicate directly with Senior Management is expected. </li><li>Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, general ledger applications, and other relevant software </li><li>Excellent organizational skills, including establishing priorities, are essential. </li><li>Experience utilizing databases for development of reports and to enhance operations within an office environment preferred. </li><li>Willingness and ability to work as a friendly and productive team member. </li><li>Knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and diversity within the College community. </li></ul> <p>Consideration of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
