This role is responsible for architecture guidance, modernization strategy, and technical excellence, while leveraging AI and LLMs to accelerate discovery and migration.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Architecture & Modernization Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Own and guide the overall backend architecture for Java EE applications being modernized to microservices. </li><li>Lead monolith refactoring and decomposition into Spring Boot-based services. </li><li>Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices. </li><li>Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools aligned with enterprise standards. </li></ul> <p>Backend Engineering & Integration</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and implement enterprise grade backend services and integrations. </li><li>Lead SOAP to REST API modernization and service rationalization. </li><li>Ensure backend services meet non functional requirements (performance, security, scalability). </li><li>Act as the backend technical point of contact for product, DevOps, security, and integration teams. </li></ul> <p>AI & LLM Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Use LLM based tools for: </li></ul> <p>o Legacy code analysis and dependency mapping</p> <p>o Service boundary identification</p> <p>o Documentation and interface generation</p> <ul> <li>Apply prompt engineering techniques and define validation guardrails. </li><li>Ensure AI usage complies with enterprise security, privacy, and governance standards. </li></ul> <p>Technical Leadership & Mentoring</p> <ul> <li>Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, and complex problem solving sessions. </li><li>Mentor mid level engineers and provide constructive feedback through code reviews. </li><li>Influence technical roadmaps and modernization priorities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. </li><li>7+ years of professional Java development experience, including significant Java EE expertise. </li><li>Proven experience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale, production systems. </li><li>Experience with modernizing legacy code and integrating new features into existing systems. </li><li>Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering direction. </li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. </li></ul>
