Join a winning team today at del Lago Resort & Casino</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The HR Specialist provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and assists with the facilitation of Human Resources processes including recordkeeping, HRIS entry, hiring, licensing and onboarding etc.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all- inclusive:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates team member recruitment efforts alongside departmental management, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting backgrounds checks, etc. </li><li>Assists in the onboarding process for new hires and facilitates the completion of necessary paperwork </li><li>Acts as a point of contact for applicant/team member inquiries and provides support in addressing team member concerns or conflicts </li><li>Maintains team member records and databases and continuously makes updates to files with status changes, while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality </li><li>Assists in administering team member benefits programs and provide guidance to team members on benefits-related inquiries </li><li>Aids in identifying training needs and developing training materials to support team member development initiatives </li><li>Coordinates training sessions and workshops for team members, including scheduling, logistics, and tracking attendance </li><li>Assists departmental management with other human resources functions, such as processing terminations, preparing performance reviews, performing clerical functions, etc. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p> <p>In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:</p> <ul> <li>Attend required training sessions offered by the casino </li><li>Obtain required license(s) </li><li>Performs the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations </li><li>Responsible to take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco </li><li>Knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department </li><li>Knowledge of the property's programs to address problem gambling </li><li>Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with the state regulations and Systems of Internal Controls </li><li>Responsible to take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management </li><li>Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member that they have knowledge of </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred </li><li>One to three years of related experience </li><li>Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>Must have ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Working knowledge of human resource principles, practices, and procedures </li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines </li><li>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software </li><li>The team member will be required to sit for extended periods of time. </li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the team member may also be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. </li><li>The team member may be asked to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. </li><li>The team member may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. </li><li>The noise level in the work environment is moderate. </li></ul> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.</p> <p>Work With Us</p> <p>Churchill Downs Incorporated is an inclusive and fun place to work.
