If so, then you are the perfect addition to our team! </p> <p>Sixth Judicial District Court Administration (Linn County) has an immediate opening for a Judicial Operations Clerk. This position is in the role of a court attendant at the Linn County Courthouse. </p> <p>The starting salary for new State employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The starting pay for this position is $21.42/hour. Adjustments may be made if the successful applicant has relevant experience. This is a contract-covered, FLSA non-exempt position. </p> <p>Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00A - 4:30P </p> <p>To Apply: Candidates need to complete the NEOGOV application and attach a cover letter and resume. The Iowa Judicial Branch is an E-Verify employer. </p> <p>What's in it for YOU: </p> <ul> <li>Collaborative, positive work environment </li><li>Talented and passionate team members that will help you grow and learn </li><li>Opportunities to make a widespread difference in the lives of Iowa communities </li><li>Excellent benefits package including health, dental and life insurance </li><li>Paid Holidays/Vacation/ Sick Leave </li><li>Iowa Public Employees' Retirement System (IPERS) Retirement plan and 457/401(a) options </li><li>Employee discount program </li></ul> <p>Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide customer service by responding to inquiries from the general public, attorneys, and court employees. </li><li>Assist court users with resources, equipment, and services. </li><li>Perform routine court operations paper and electronic documentation tasks, and filing in accordance with established procedures. </li><li>Review, process, update, and publish information, documents, files, orders, warrants, judgement notifications, and other materials for completeness and accuracy. </li><li>Perform basic bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including cashier duties and processing. </li><li>Assist courtroom preparations for appropriate proceedings, including electronic device setup and digital recording management software use. </li><li>Provide office support such as maintaining organization, equipment, and supplies. </li><li>Occasional travel to neighboring counties as needed </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>The following skills and experience will enable your success in this role:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity and understanding of court operation support, record keeping, and filing. </li><li>Basic computer database, software, and math skills. </li><li>Ability to secure confidential data and maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. </li><li>Verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Attention to detail. </li><li>Reliable transportation and the ability to travel. </li><li>Ability to assist Judges, Attorneys, and Pro Se Litigants </li><li>The ability and desire to learn multiple computer systems including Iowa's case management system and Electronic Document Management System </li></ul> <p>Under the direct supervision of court administration, candidates will have the desire to learn the complexities of our court case processing system using our statewide Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). This position may involve travel to other counties in the district, including Linn, Iowa, Jones, Benton, and Tama Counties. </p> <p>This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. </p> <p> </p> <p>Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise</p> <p>The incumbent must meet the minimum requirements to qualify for the position. </p> <ul> <li>High school diploma (or high school equivalency diploma). </li><li>One (1) year of experience in customer service. </li></ul> <p>Two (2) years of professional experience in business, court or legal work, or related area is preferred. </p> <ul> <li>Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience. </li></ul>
