<p>TITLE: Elevator Operator</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Operations</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Dock Manager</p> <p>STATUS: Hourly, Non-exempt.</p> <p>Rate: $22.75 / hour to start</p> <p>The Moscone Center has an immediate opening for an Elevator Operator under the B-18 Theatrical Employees Union to operate freight elevators on the loading docks.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Operates elevator to transport materials equipment between floors on loading docks. </li><li>Moves control levers, or pushes buttons to control movement of elevator. </li><li>Opens & closes safety gate door of elevator at each floor where stop is made. </li><li>When transporting passengers, ensure that all passengers get in/out of the elevator </li></ul> <p>with safety before proceeding to close the doors.</p> <ul> <li>Inform users regarding load drop off locations and help them reach correct </li></ul> <p>destination/floor.</p> <ul> <li>Must report any elevator malfunction to supervisor. </li><li>Follows all safety procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations as provided. </li><li>Notifies security and supervisor immediately when unauthorized persons enter the </li></ul> <p>elevator.</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate or GED </li><li>Dependable and reliable </li><li>Must be courteous and friendly </li><li>Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English </li><li>Able to complete assignments with minimal supervision </li><li>Ability to follow instructions </li><li>Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs </li><li>Requires standing and sitting throughout the shift </li><li>Must be flexible to work any shifts, days and hours, including holidays and weekends </li></ul> <p>SCHEDULING EXPECTATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Elevator Operators are scheduled based on operational needs and seniority; hours are not consistent or guaranteed. </li><li>This would be a good position for someone who is in school or has another part time job that has a consistent schedule. </li></ul>
