<p>PRIMARY PURPOSE:</p> <p>As an Apprentice Bartender, you will be responsible for assisting the bartender and maintaining the appearance of the bar.</p> <p>Position: Hourly, Full-Time</p> <p>Location: Gold Strike Casino</p> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist the bartender with the preparation of drinks, mixes, and garnishes.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bar area.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain sufficient stock of all items and products in designated work areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure proper setup, labeling, stocking, and delivery of alcohol, and non-alcoholic beverages, supplies, glasses, paper products, garnishes, and ice.</p> </li><li> <p>Clean equipment, tools, and supplies, polish glassware and ensure equipment is in working order.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform opening and closing duties based on shift assignment.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote and maintain the highest level of service to all guests while staying alert to their needs and responding effectively to guest inquiries.</p> </li><li> <p>Resolve guest complaints within the scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, and notify the supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other job-related duties as requested.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>One (1) year of experience as an apprentice bartender working in a similar resort setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Money handling experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working in a similar resort setting.</p> </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledgeable of menu items, including mixing and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies, and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledgeable of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.</p> </li></ul> <p>Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>This is not intended to include every duty or responsibility of the job nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do this job.</p> </li></ul> <p>This position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking.
