<p>PURPOSE</p> <p>The Corporate Account Manager is responsible for representing SMC in all business activities associated with customer global account support. This senior-level sales position has the responsibility to create and develop ongoing business relationships to increase market share and obtain growth by creating and sustaining a long-term relationship between the customer and SMC. The customer will be a corporate account that requires a coordinated sales and service effort by several individuals within SMC on a national and/or global scale. This person will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the customer's business and technological requirements, and for aligning SMC resources with the customer's objectives to obtain mutual success, while at the same time communicating progress and overall situation to SMC management. This position will require an individual that can maintain and convey a positive professional attitude among peers and to customers.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Retains and profitably grows sales through proactive management of top corporate accounts. </li><li>Drive SMC specifications at the customer level </li><li>Presents all of SMC's capabilities, services, and products to top decision-makers of corporate accounts </li><li>Serves as the primary contact for assigned corporate account customers and is responsible for customer satisfaction </li><li>Represents customers' needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality </li><li>Leads all aspects of the sales process, calling upon others to assist in solution development, hosting regular conference calls, etc. </li><li>Proactively manages customer satisfaction and service delivery by anticipating potential service problems, and monitoring satisfaction. </li><li>Completes detailed SAP and forecasts as required </li><li>Maintains/creates very strong and deep-rooted relationships with key decision makers within designated corporate accounts; recognized </li></ul> <p>and respected by customer's top management team within the corporate account</p> <ul> <li>Effectively utilize SMC tools and resources to ensure organizational consistency and efficiency </li><li>Complete market reports as new and relevant information become available </li><li>Manage SMC assets appropriately and be able to successfully calculate ROI using the RINGI process </li><li>Have passed all Pneumatic theory and other technical training required by SMC </li><li>Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional associations </li><li>Communicate and teach SMC sales philosophy, strategies, and tactics to other SMC employees </li><li>Coaching/mentoring experiences with less senior sales staff and peers with a focus on the plant level salespeople at the corporate acct. </li><li>Consistent and timely communication with the key decision makers of the customer, including related OEMs, engineering firms, subcontractors, etc. </li><li>Developing and implementing a sales channel strategy that meets the needs of the corporate account </li><li>Identifying new projects and opportunities for customers such as plant expansions, machinery purchases, improvements, etc. </li><li>Implementing complex pricing proposals and agreements that satisfy customer requests while maintaining profitability for SMC, including global agreements </li><li>Document sales calls, projects, opportunities, contacts, success reports, and activity in CRM </li><li>Complete other duties as prescribed by Branch Manager, Global Industry Manager, and Industry Sales Manager </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <ul> <li>Fast-paced environment (includes both office and field work) </li><li>Travel with some extended stay away from home </li><li>Physically capable of lifting SMC products and displays up to 50 lbs </li><li>Varying work hours </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, related technical field, or equivalent experience </li><li>Minimum five (5) years of sales experience with SMC or equivalent industry sales experience </li><li>Extensive knowledge of SMC product lines, and comprehensive understanding of pneumatic components and their application </li><li>Thorough understanding of SMC policies and procedures </li><li>Detailed understanding of competitive product lines </li><li>Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills </li><li>Proficient in the use of computers and ability to learn new programs and tools as required </li><li>Clean driving record. </li></ul> <p>For internal use only: Sales001</p>
