As a key member of the Randall B. Terry Jr. Companion Animal Medical Center, you will provide comprehensive patient care and coordination across our specialty services. This role is designed for a highly skilled veterinary professional who thrives in a "leading-edge" environment, balancing direct clinical care with the organizational precision required by a premier teaching hospital.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Clinical Excellence & Patient Care</p> <ul> <li>Direct Patient Care: Provide high-level support for diagnostic, therapeutic, and procedural treatments. </li><li>Monitoring & Recovery: Manage patient safety through medication administration, post-procedure recovery, and advanced pain management. </li><li>Procedural Support: Assist with sterile diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using aseptic techniques. </li><li>Advanced Diagnostics: Coordinate and support imaging services, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and radiography. </li></ul> <p>Communication & Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a central point of contact for clients, clinicians, staff, and learners. </li><li>Referral Management: Facilitate seamless communication with referring veterinarians (rDVMs) and interdisciplinary hospital teams. </li><li>Client Relations: Manage patient admitting, provide status updates, and assist with scheduling to ensure a high-quality service experience. </li></ul> <p>Operations & Education</p> <ul> <li>Workflow Management: Oversee procedural requests, sample submissions, and financial coordination (billing, estimates, and charge entry). </li><li>Mentorship: Orient and train staff and learners within the clinical environment. </li><li>Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to infectious disease protocols, OSHA, EHS, and radiation safety standards. </li></ul> <p>What You Bring</p> <ul> <li>In-Depth Knowledge: Strong foundation in veterinary medicine and specialty care protocols. </li><li>Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate and maintain specialized medical equipment. </li><li>Organizational Mastery: Exceptional skills in documentation and workflow coordination within a hospital information system. </li><li>Effective Communication: Ability to engage professionally with a varied population of clients and clinicians. </li><li>Physical Readiness: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodations) and work in a high-energy environment. </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Experience/Education</p> <p>Completion of an accredited training program in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Some positions may require additional Training, Certifications, or Licensure.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting; preferably at a teaching hospital. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to monitor patients, administer medications, and support post-procedure recovery and pain management. </li><li>Experience assisting with sterile procedures and coordinating diagnostic imaging services such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, or radiography. </li><li>Proven ability to manage clinical workflows, documentation, and financial coordination tasks (e.g., billing, estimates, charge entry) within a hospital information system. </li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills, with experience coordinating care among clients, clinicians, interdisciplinary teams, and learners while adhering to established safety and compliance protocols. </li></ul> <p>Required License or Certification</p> <ul> <li>Licensed/Registered/Certified by any state </li><li>Graduation from an AVMA fully accredited two- or four-year Veterinary Technician program </li></ul> <p>Valid NC Driver's License required No Commercial Driver's License Required?
