<p>Job Title: Foster Pavilion Operations Assistant</p> <p>Job Classification: Business Operations, Student</p> <p>Department: Athletics Event Management & Facilities</p> <p>Hiring Manager: Jonathan Berry</p> <p>Contact: jonathan_berry@baylor.edu</p> <p>Work Schedule: Flexible working hours depending on event schedule. Some nights and weekends. No more than 20 hours per week.</p> <p>Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Ongoing</p> <p>Pay Rate: $10</p> <p>Key Components:</p> <ul> <li>In a student employee capacity, may perform or assist with specialized business or operational functions that contribute to departmental goals and initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Student Worker supports the day-to-day operations and event execution at Foster Pavilio. This position offers hands-on experience in event management, guest services, and facility operations while providing flexible hours to accommodate student schedules.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with event setup and breakdown for basketball games, concerts, and other special events. </li><li>Greet and assist guests, provide directions, and ensure a positive event experience. </li><li>Support back-of-house operations including locker room setup, team support, and equipment logistics. </li><li>Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility. </li><li>Operate various equipment such as radios, scoreboards, and PA systems (training provided). </li><li>Collaborate with full-time staff and external vendors to ensure smooth event operations. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by arena staff or supervisors. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule. </li><li>Strong communication and customer service skills. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. </li><li>Dependable, punctual, and professional. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in event operations, customer service, or athletic facilities. </li><li>Interest in sports management, hospitality, or event planning. </li><li>Provide mid to advanced level administrative and operational support for day-to-day tasks </li><li>May serve as initial contact for in-person guests or callers; provide excellent customer service </li><li>May generate, prepare and analyze reports or perform forecasting </li><li>May create creative content or maintain department website(s) </li><li>May assist with special projects and initiatives supporting departmental goals </li><li>May assist with planning or coordination of events </li><li>May assist with identifying areas of improvement and recommend solutions </li><li>May assist with compliance processes </li><li>May assist with maintaining internal databases and records </li><li>May assist with developing processes and procedures </li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission </li><li>Ability to comply with University policies </li><li>Maintain regular and punctual attendance </li></ul> <p>Employer: Baylor University</p> <p>Work Location:</p> <p>Work Address: 650 S.
