<p>Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a proactive Quality Assurance Manager with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to lead all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance across our facility. The ideal candidate will ensure alignment with company policies and standards, including SQF, HACCP, and GFSI, and promote a strong food safety culture while driving continuous improvement and CAPA effectiveness.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance initiatives. </li><li>Ensure alignment with SQF, HACCP, and GFSI standards. </li><li>Promote and maintain a strong food safety culture. </li><li>Drive continuous improvement and CAPA effectiveness. </li><li>Manage, mentor, and develop QA staff and cross-functional teams. </li><li>Conduct internal audits to monitor compliance and identify improvement opportunities. </li><li>Own and maintain the Food Safety & Quality Management System with audit-ready documentation. </li><li>Lead internal and external audits, including corrective actions and timely resolution. </li><li>Oversee traceability, recall readiness, and product release/hold procedures. </li><li>Provide hands-on support on the production floor. </li><li>Collaborate with QA, warehouse, and production teams to ensure smooth operations and address customer concerns. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 4-5 years of progressive QA experience in a food manufacturing environment. </li><li>Certified in HACCP is preferred and SQF Practitioner. </li><li>PCQI certification strongly preferred or must obtain upon hiring. </li><li>Experience leading 3rd-party audits, regulatory inspections, and customer audits. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of CAPA systems, root cause analysis tools, and continuous improvement. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, or related field. </li><li>Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, not required. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position operates on a 9 AM to 5 PM shift, with potential for over 40 hours during the initial tenure. The role involves working in a cold, hot, and high-moisture environment. The candidate must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and twist for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Availability for weekends, holidays, and overtime is required.
