<p>UPMC Susquehanna Maintenance & Facilities is hiring a Journeyman 2 - Electrician. Position is Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm with a weekend and holiday rotation.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment including generators, fire alarm, overhead paging system and nurse call. </li><li>Inspect and test lighting, signal communication, control and power circuits and equipment. </li><li>Install new wiring and electrical machinery. </li><li>Isolate and repair/replace defective wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment. </li><li>Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. </li><li>Operate and maintain switchgear and electrical machinery. </li><li>Perform all work following infection control procedures. </li><li>Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis. </li><li>Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent is required. </li><li>Completion of trade school program which includes such items as blueprint reading, electricity, machine shop work, mathematics and physics. </li><li>Must have three to four years of hospital or commercial work experience OR what is required by local governing authority. </li><li>Knowledge of City, State and Federal codes is required. </li><li>May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
