<p>Due to the high volume of reference surveys being sent out and some issues we've encountered with the process, we have updated our application requirements. La solicitud ahora requerirá tres cartas de referencia profesional, todas las cartas deben de tener una fecha en los ultimos 12 meses.</p> <p>Si usted es un empleado actual del distrito, por favor asegúrese de que una de las cartas de referencia provenga de su supervisor actual.</p> <p>Gracias por su comprensión.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>Deliver instructional program through use of established curriculum and required assessments.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Complies with the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession; upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives, regulations, GISD school board policies, as well as local, state and federal regulations.</p> <p>Meets the established teacher competencies for level of licensure held. (e.g. Level 1, 2, or 3)</p> <p>Follows National Association for the Education of Young Children's Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs serving children from birth through eight years old.</p> <p>Adheres to the New Mexico FOCUS Criteria, the PED Preschool Lesson Plan Form, the NM Early Learning Guidelines and Essential Indicators with Rubrics, the Full Participation of every child, and the Statement of Assurances signed by the district Superintendent.</p> <p>Implements an instructional program which meets the total development needs of children (e.g. physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs) and includes health care, nutrition, safety, and multicultural sensitivity.</p> <p>Conducts home visits and parent teacher conferences.</p> <p>Assists in planning and implementing parent trainings and events such as "Literacy Night", "Family Math Night", "Science Night", etc.</p> <p>Attends scheduled parents meetings, staff meetings, professional development training, etc.</p> <p>Communicates effectively with other staff members, parents, and students.</p> <p>Maintains a close working relationship with assigned classroom Instructional Assistant which adheres to the PreK philosophy of instructional teamwork within a classroom.</p> <p>Locates or develops appropriate learning materials.</p> <p>Supervises students while on site or on field trip(s).</p> <p>Displays a desire and enthusiasm for working with young children.</p> <p>Uses time effectively; is punctual and has good attendance.</p> <p>Works with all children and their exceptionalities</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Directly supervises an Instructional Assistant. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training Instructional Assistant; Assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; conferencing with Instructional Assistant on Best Practices within the Pre-K classroom; and addressing concerns and resolving problems within the collaborative team.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university</p> </li><li> <p>1 to 2 years related experience and/or training</p> </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Level One, Two, or Three New Mexico Teaching License Early Childhood Education and/or Birth-Grade Three License issued by New Mexico Public Education Department. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.</p> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY</p> <p>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.</p> <p>PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
