Provides entry-level computational support to scientists and clinicians by applying informatics tools, methods, and technologies; with close supervision and direction, completing assignments in the required timeframe while consistently adhering to standard operating procedures and best practices; adapting to a changing environment, resolving basic problems associated with assignments and seeking supervisor assistance when needed.</p> <p>The Biomedical Informatics Research Data Scientist I will be responsible for :</p> <ul> <li>Producing innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets. Applying knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identifying opportunities, posing questions, and making discoveries. Using a flexible, analytical approach to designing, developing, and evaluating predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data. Generating and testing hypotheses and analyzing and interpreting the results of experiments. </li><li>Working under close supervision and direction, completing assignments within the required timeframe while consistently adhering to standard operating procedures and best practices; adapting to a changing environment, resolving basic problems associated with assignments, and seeking supervisor assistance when needed. </li><li>Participating in biomedical informatics projects with other members of the BCH research community and outside collaborators, demonstrating achievement of project goals and objectives. </li><li>Clearly explaining completed work and assignments.
