<p>BTECH is looking for a skilled IT support Specialist to join our Information Systems department. We are looking for a successful individual with the technical skills that can maintain essential IT operations. This position is critical in ensuring a smooth and productive technology environment for our faculty, staff, and students. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to outstanding customer service in an academic setting.</p> <p>Duties: This position requires extensive hands-on interaction with faculty and staff. As a result, this position requires physical presence to complete the essential duties found below.</p> <ul> <li>Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users. Train employees on both software and hardware as needed </li><li>Maintain adequate knowledge of operating systems and application software to provide high levels of support to users. In particular this position will help with the installation, maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of CAE Healthcare simulation software </li><li>Install, configure, and support workstation software, hardware, printers, and phones </li><li>Add and maintain users on the network; assigning application access, ensuring security </li><li>Install, maintain, configure, server software and hardware </li><li>Assist in installation of workstations and other hardware on the network </li><li>Identify privacy and security concerns, implement security technologies </li><li>Participate in department meetings, providing input and suggestions </li><li>Assist in gathering bid prices on equipment and supplies as needed </li><li>Provide written documentation </li><li>Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information so they can service the member in the fastest and most efficient manner possible </li><li>Keep up to date in industry trends and technologies. Testing new technologies </li><li>Monitor network traffic and make recommendations accordingly </li><li></li><li>Ability to lift and transport computer equipment such as desktops, monitors, printers, and other hardware (up to 60 lbs.) </li><li>Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, climbing ladders, or reaching in tight spaces for cable management or hardware installation. </li><li>Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested </li></ul> <p>Skills and qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>IT Certificate or degree, plus two years' experience in computer and software networks; or equivalent education/experience in the information technology field </li><li>A+ and Net+ certification preferred, security+ welcomed </li><li>Some EntraID, VMWare experience is a plus </li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills </li><li>Ability to adapt and learn new technologies </li><li>Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing, and active listening </li><li>Great customer service and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude </li><li>Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, and great work ethic </li><li>Attention to detail </li></ul>
