<p>Patient Access Liaison II - Weight Management</p> <p>Suma Health - Akron City Campus</p> <p>Full-Time / 40 Hours / Days (M-F 8a-4:30p)</p> <p>Summa Health System is recognized as one of the region's top employers by a number of third party organizations, including NorthCoast 99. Serves as point person for PALI's questions and assists with de-escalation of patient situations; mentors and assists with training of PALI's as needed. Acts as initial contact for new Weight Management Institute (WMI) patients; Schedules appointments, procedures, and consults for established patients of the WMI. Collects payments and processes receipts; Prepares charts and patients for physician visits, and assists physicians with visits; Reviews charts and assists patients in completing all pre-op requirements; Assists in collection of data for clinical outcomes. Provides a high level of customer service to present a positive impression of Summa Health.</p> <p>Formal Education Required:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in healthcare, accounting, business, public relations or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. </li></ul> <p>Experience and Training Required:</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years experience performing two or more of the following duties: scheduling, phone triage, patient check-in, patient registration, insurance verification, pre-certification, or medical assisting in a medical office, hospital, or healthcare setting. </li><li>Cross trained or ability to work efficiently in 2 or more areas (e.g., New Patient, Front Desk, Clinical/Surgical, Clinical/Non-surgical; Pre-Op). </li><li>Ability to pass typing test administered by Human Resources of 25 WPM </li><li>Ability to pass medical terminology exam administered by Human Resources </li></ul> <p>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. </li><li>Knowledge of keyboard with high accuracy and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) </li><li>Demonstrates communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Skill in problem-solving. </li><li>Ability to work well within a team environment by offering and accepting honest and constructive feedback, supporting team goals, encouraging fellow team members. </li><li>Ability to be highly motivated, work independently, make decisions, and work in a fast-paced stressful environment. </li><li>Attentiveness to detail. </li><li>Organizational Competencies: Appearance, Attitude, Courtesy, Concern, Communication, Teamwork, Safety. </li><li>Functional Competencies: Customer Service Orientation, Access Operations, Quality & Compliance Management, Physician & Patient Relations, Documentation & Reporting, Employee Engagement </li><li>Personal Attributes: Customer Focus, Adaptability and Flexibility, Ability to understand and follow directions, Communication, Professionalism, Reliability, Enthusiasm, Positivity, Integrity/ethical standards, Results-oriented, Organizational skills with strong attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>Level of Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit for extended periods up to 10 hours </li><li>Ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands as required </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled</p> <p>$18.13/hr - $21.75/hr</p> <p>The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range.
