SUMMARY OF JOB SUMMARY OF JOB: The Director of Acute Care Applications role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. The Director of Acute Care Applications will lead the Acute Care and ASC clinical applications team in the design, development, testing, enhancement, documentation, and ongoing support of all Acute Care applications to support business and patient care processes. Evaluates, selects, and implements new technologies and development tools for technology development. Promotes technical standards for development, testing, and documentation, participates in the evaluation and selection of vendor systems, facilitates continuous quality improvement efforts, and serves as an expert technical resource for IT projects and teams throughout the enterprise. The Director of Acute Care Application supports and performs feasibility, analytical, and cost/benefit studies of areas of responsibility. Ensures the implementation and daily operation of all computer applications contained within the responsibility. Performs duties in support of the Health System mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner. RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS 5-8 years of relevant work experience, with 3-5 years in a management position including director level experience, and a minimum of 5 years in a clinical practice/hospital environment." Demonstrated advanced experience in Electronic Medical Records and Physician Practice software connected Healthcare (HIE) and solutions. Proven abilities in IT leadership, subject matter expertise and a track record in developing and implementing software and inter-operabilty that provide value to the customer base. Ability to direct and manage multiple complex projects at the same time. Ability to ensure processes and workflows are reviewed, changed and optimized as part of all technology deployment. Knowledge of and interest in non-acute care delivery systems (lifecare, homecare, hospice) is required. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the IT user community. Must be willing to enthusiastically embrace key organizational initiatives such as SafeCare and Experience. Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree). Demonstrated working knowledge of Provider E.H.R., interfaces, interoperability and systems' security (application, database security), and practices across all major computing areas.
