Excellent service and teamwork is an expected and integral part of the Burlington Lower Level Physical Therapy Specialty Clinic culture.</p> <p>We are currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapist who is skilled at evaluating and treating general orthopedic, non-neurologic falls and balance and oncology patients referred for ambulatory physical therapy services. The preferred candidate would have 3 years of oncology rehab and lymphedema management experience, along with an interest in geriatrics and/or osteoporosis education. The position will partner with a physical therapy assistant. Work at Michigan Medicine and become a victor for the greater good.</p> <p>What Benefits can you Look Forward to?</p> <ul> <li>Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day </li><li>2:1 Match on retirement savings </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <ul> <li>Interpret referrals and ensure necessary precautions are identified so that appropriate physical therapy evaluation and treatment can be provided. </li><li>Develop focused individually designed treatment plans based on the patient's functional goals. </li><li>Utilizes independent clinical decision making to progress patients and modify treatment depending upon the patient's needs and medical status. </li><li>Monitor patients throughout the provision of treatment and respond appropriately to changes in patient status. </li><li>Instruct patients and their families in home treatment programs. </li><li>Maintain records of patient evaluation, treatment and discharge status. </li><li>May conduct research under the guidance of a Physical Therapy Director. </li><li>May conduct special projects contributing to teaching materials and procedures used in physical therapy. </li><li>Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>If licensed prior to 2016: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or basic MS </li><li>If licensed on or after 2016: Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) </li><li>Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship </li><li>Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan </li><li>This position requires Primary Source Verification </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated proficiency in patient treatment </li><li>A passion for rehab care - Taking patients the next steps to returning to independent functioning in home/work/community activities </li><li>A collaborative work style and positive attitude to add to our high performing multidisciplinary team </li><li>Excellent communication and documentation skills </li><li>Ability to be a collaborative team player </li><li>General orthopedic outpatient experience or internship program completion </li><li>Lymphedema certification and experience treating cancer related lymphedema </li><li>Current CPR and First Aid Certification </li><li>Certified Lymphedema Therapist- CLT Required, LANA or LANA eligible </li><li>Coursework in Klose, ACOLS or Norton </li><li>3 years of experience managing outpatient oncology related lymphedema including ordering, measuring and fitting garments for related edema reduction </li><li>3 years of experience collaborating with multiple external vendors for obtaining garments for edema reduction, including knowledge of required documentation and insurance authorization requirement </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <p>The clinic is open Monday-Friday 7am to 6pm. This position is 40 hours per week, and will be expected to cover 2-3 closing shifts. 4-10 hour days are possible dependent on clinic needs and candidate preference.</p> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
