Train other employees, ensuring that patient care is delivered accurately and efficiently. Assists in the application of casts, braces, splints, and other orthopedic devices, and may also assist in surgical procedures. Under the direction and supervision of the site Administrative Manager and Orthopedic Technician Manager, this position is responsible for providing orthopedic services to patients, including casting, splinting and the fitting of durable medical equipment. In addition, this position is responsible for managing all activities associated with a durable medical equipment program including: gathering necessary paperwork to facilitate billing, utilizing a DME software system to manage authorization checks, collecting payments at the time of service as needed and inventory management.
