<p>The Joseph Osgood School is seeking a Special Education Teacher to teach .5 in our Integrated Preschool and .5 supporting kindergarten students for the 2025- 2026 School Year.</p> <p>The teacher will provide direct service to preschool-age children who have been identified with a special education-related disability, as well as typical learners, all of whom are enrolled in our preschool program. Our preschool classes are half-day classes and the teacher would have one class. The teacher will also provide direct service to kindergarten students who have been identified with a special education-related disability.</p> <p>Services will be provided in accordance with Massachusetts state laws and regulations. Preschool classrooms are staffed with a licensed Special Educator and Educational Assistant(s). There are a variety of Specialists who support the classrooms and provide services that promote learning and development, such as: ?Speech and Language Pathologist ?Occupational Therapist ?Physical Therapist ?Board Certified Behavior Analyst</p> <p>Curriculum and learning materials are carefully selected to follow the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Guidelines for Preschool and Kindergarten Learning Experiences. Play is the work of early childhood! The school day is rooted in our belief that children learn through play, their interactions with their peers, and with engaging, high-quality materials.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1.Responsible for the delivery of educational services to children with special needs in accordance with the requirements of state law including but not limited to: ?Screening and identifying children who may have special needs. ?Coordinating special education evaluation procedures in conjunction with the Team Chairperson. ?Conducting diagnostic assessments and preparing related reports. ?Developing and writing Educational Plans in conjunction with parents and other professionals. ?Attending and chairing annual review special education TEAM meetings. ?Delivering instructional services both in a small group setting and/or the classroom in accordance with the students Individual Education Plan. 2.Adapts, and modifies curriculum for special needs students that correlate with regular education peers. 3.Consults and collaborates with parents and other professionals on behalf of special needs students and typical learners. 4.Experience in training teaching assistants in early childhood classroom strategies. 5.Participates in system-wide professional development and training. 6.Such other responsibilities as may be assigned by Principal and/or Director of Student Services.</p>
