<p>Job Summary The department of Sociology and Psychology is seeking an inspirational and dedicated instructor to guide our diverse and increasing student population. We are also seeking to complement and expand program specialization that will offer graduates multiple paths to furthering their academic careers. Essential job functions include teaching, advising students, service, collegiality, research and publication. Job Duties & Responsibilities Teach various undergraduate/graduate level courses of Psychology and Social ScienceServe on, and contribute to, all committees to which he/she is assignedEngage in scholarly research, publications, and presentations that include undergraduate and graduate students whenever feasibleAssist the Department Head in recruitment, retention and graduation of Sociology and Psychology majors in the departmentAssist with curriculum reviews and analysis in the department/college/universityAttend convocations and commencements, and participate in other official University functions when requestedEnsure that all programs in the department are current and contribute to the mission of the UniversityAssist with providing leadership and counsel for student organizations in the departmentPerform other tasks as assigned by the Department Head/Coordinator, Dean of the College/School, or Provost Qualifications Minimum:Ph.D. degree in psychology from an accredited college or university ABD candidates considered provided completion of degree before time of appointment University teaching experienceCommitment to the academic achievement of a racially, ethnically and culturally diverse student populationScholarly academic record on research, publications and presentations in the field of PsychologyAbility to and potential for teaching courses in abnormal psychology, personality, psychological measurement, adjustment and development, substance abuse, and health psychologyKnowledgeable of statistical software such as SPSS, NVivo or MAXQDA and SAS, etc.Must express a commitment to teaching and to the successful development of Behavioral/Social Science majors Preference will be given to individuals with specialization or training in at least one of the following:Clinical/Counseling PsychologyBlack PsychologyForensic Psychology Supplemental Information Applications without the following will not be considered complete.Cover LetterResumeTranscript(s) Review of applicants will begin June 14th, 2024 and will continue until position is filled.</p>
