<p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>Leadership & Transportation Oversight:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily student transportation operations, including regular routes, field trips, and extracurricular activity transport. </li><li>Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate transportation staff including drivers and monitors </li><li>Maintain current bus routes and make adjustments for efficiency and safety as needed. </li><li>Collaborate with school administration and families to resolve transportation issues. </li><li>Develop and manage the transportation department budget in collaboration with the business office. </li><li>Coordinate transportation during inclement weather and emergency situations. </li><li>Maintain compliance with IDOE transportation reporting and inspection requirements. </li></ul> <p>Bus Technician & Fleet Maintenance Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the lead technician/mechanic, performing hands-on diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on district buses and vehicles. </li><li>Maintain service logs and inspection records in accordance with Indiana State Police requirements. </li><li>Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary. </li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and emissions regulations. </li><li>Manage inventory and ordering of parts, fluids, and shop supplies. </li><li>Operate and interpret computerized diagnostic equipment and tools. </li><li>Maintain clean and organized maintenance facilities that meet safety standards. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in diesel/automotive repair preferred. </li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in school transportation or heavy vehicle maintenance. </li><li>Prior experience in a supervisory role in a transportation or fleet maintenance setting preferred. </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Indiana CDL with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements, or ability to obtain within 90 days. </li><li>DOT medical certification. </li><li>ASE certification in medium/heavy duty truck repair preferred but not required. </li><li>Must meet all Indiana School Bus Safety and State Police inspection requirements. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of school bus mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret vehicle manuals, technical documents, and safety codes. </li><li>Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. </li><li>Skilled in scheduling, budgeting, and fleet recordkeeping </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift/move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions. </li><li>Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform tasks in confined spaces. </li></ul> <p>Schedule & Compensation:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time, year-round position. </li><li>Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. </li></ul> <p>Eastern Pulaski offers a robust benefits package to employees including:</p> <p>Onsite Childcare</p> <p>Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long Term Disability Insurance</p> <p>Onsite Health Clinic</p> <p>Retirement Plan</p> <p>Paid Time Off (including 10 paid holidays)</p> <p>24/7 Access to Virtual Medical Care</p> <p>Financial Wellness Coaching</p> <p>Health Coaching</p>
