<p>Summary of Position</p> <p>Providesadministrative support to club sports; assists with the daily operation, organization, and security of sensitive camper documents; supports staff as needed; contributes to programming; supervise lunches, drinks, and snacks; always maintains a professional and orderly environment; responds and documents all incidents and emergencies; monitors weather forecast; coordinates a Staff Appreciation Night.</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with student staff training sessions for club sports student staff, as well as required trainings and in-services.</p> <p>Provides information to student staff about club sports, such as currently active clubs, how to join club sports, departmental policies/procedures, etc.</p> <p>Assists with conducting evaluations on returning staff.</p> <p>Communicates any necessary needs to the Coordinator of Competitive Sports and Summer Camps.</p> <p>Assists with student staff training sessions for summer camps.</p> <p>Assists with planning summer camp activities.</p> <p>Completes Safe Drivers Course to drive a golfcart.</p> <p>Performs research projects to aid in the overall development and growth of Intramural Sports.</p> <p>Demonstrates sound judgment and good moral character.</p> <p>Represents YSU Campus Recreation and all program areas with distinction.</p> <p>Collaborates with other YSU departments for various events/programs.</p> <p>Other Functions and Responsibilities:Assists with training new hires.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.</p> <p>Equipment Operated:Computer and all other standard office equipment.</p> <p>Work Schedule:Typically, Monday through Friday, part-time as needed.</p> <p>Supervision Exercised:May exercise supervision over student employees.</p> <p>Reports to: Director, Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center</p> <p>Qualifications and Competencies</p> <p>Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures:Obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.Valid driver's license.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>Knowledge of: Camp related computer software applications; University policies and procedures<em>; office practices and procedures; department/division goals and objectives</em>; department/division policies and procedures<em>; workplace safety practices and procedures</em>; English grammar and spelling; records management; office management; project management.</p> <p>Skill in: Demonstrating sound judgment and implementing behavior and conflict management strategies. Use of office equipment; typing, data entry; computer operation; use of computer software and other programs applicable to the assigned department/division*.</p> <p>Ability to: Collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; determine material and equipment needs; compile and prepare reports; use proper research methods to gather data; understand a variety of written and/or verbal communications; maintain records according to established procedures; effectively interact with personnel and public to answer routine questions; train or instruct others; move quickly and effectively from one tasks to another; work independently and in a team environment; develop and maintain effective working relationships.</p> <p>(*) Developed after employment.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:At least a bachelor's degree;and valid driver's license.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:Club sports staff experience. Degree or experience in higher education, teaching, or physical education. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.</p>
