<p>Averages $22-48/hour (hourly rate + event gratuities)</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at a full service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Lake Geneva. We aim to hire individuals who are ready and committed to exceed the expectations of every guest by genuinely creating lasting memories, maintaining a positive attitude and by providing outstanding service every time.</p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION: The Banquet Captain will supervise staff; coordinate banquet events assigned and implement property policies and procedures. Banquet captains ensure that elements of a venue are ready before guests arrive, including the dining tables, bar, food, and beverages. During the event, they interact with the host to respond to any special requests or last-minute adjustments. They monitor the activities of workers and guests and respond to questions, complaints, or comments that may arise.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Two years food and beverage experience in banquets </li><li>One-year supervision experience </li><li>Excellent customer service skills </li><li>Pleasant and helpful personality </li><li>Strong communication skills to coordinate with staff, clients, and vendors, ensuring a successful event </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Fill out necessary paperwork for function (order stewarding, chaffing dishes, tables and miscellaneous products). </li><li>Coordinate with kitchen on food pick up. </li><li>Supervise set up, preparation, service, and tear down of banquet function. </li><li>Constant staff training and development. </li><li>Follow and enforce safety procedures. </li><li>Conduct pre-meeting. </li><li>Interact with guests, coordinator, and property conference managers. </li><li>Evaluation and discipline of employees. </li><li>Give feedback to Banquets Manager. </li></ul> <p>MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds </li><li>Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned. </li><li>Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours. </li><li>Maintain open communication with management and other employees. </li><li>Be well organized and efficient. </li></ul> <p>ENVIRONMENT: Indoor and outdoor environments, working for as long as a function last. Indoor working conditions include walking on a carpeted areas and vinyl areas.
