<p>Thank you for considering a career at Mercy Health!</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours:</p> <p>40</p> <p>Work Shift:</p> <p>Days/Afternoons (United States of America)</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Lead Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing and providing physicians with quality results using a variety of clinical laboratory equipment. As a Lead Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) it is important to support the Technical Specialist in the performance of tasks that enhance the operations of the laboratory.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Performs the duties of a Medical Lab Scientist </li><li>Assists Technical Specialist with the implementation of new procedures and policies </li><li>Collaborates with the Technical Specialist in coordinating the proficiency testing program to ensure that all testing is registered, analyzed, and reviewed to meet established deadlines </li><li>Recommends system changes to increase efficiency and accuracy of workflow and ensure daily operational efficiencies </li><li>Completes schedules of department and updates time/schedule as necessary for daily operations </li><li>Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in one of the following: Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved program (required) </li></ul> <p>Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required) </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>At least 2 years of clinical lab experienced required </li><li>5 years of clinical lab experience preferred, but not required </li><li>2 years of leadership preferred, but not required </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-pasted environment </li><li>Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner </li></ul> <p>Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>Many of our opportunities reward* your hard work with:</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive, affordable medical, dental and vision plans </li><li>Prescription drug coverage </li><li>Flexible spending accounts </li><li>Life insurance w/AD&D </li><li>Employer contributions to retirement savings plan when eligible </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Educational Assistance </li><li>And much more </li><li>Benefits offerings vary according to employment status. </li></ul> <p>Department:</p> <p>Core Laboratory - Anderson</p> <p>It is our policy to abide by all Federal and State laws, as well as, the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
