<p>General Statement of Duties</p> <p>Student will be working with Economic Development Division as an intern. The duties assigned will be similar to an entry-level development officer. Student will work to retain, grow and start small businesses in the City.</p> <p>Interns/Co-ops/Externs for the City of Cincinnati may be performing duties in any potential field within the City's structure. These fields may include office level work/assignments, field work, and/or civic services. The nature of the work will be based on areas of interest, degree program, or organizational need. Candidates should have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p>The Department has five internal divisions that the Co-op may perform duties for including: Housing, Neighborhoods, Economic Development, Fiscal & Operations and Parking. More information about the programs and responsibilities of the Department can be found atwww.choosecincy.com.</p> <ul> <li>Business Retention & Expansion Initiative- Assist in research on site selection available properties for businesses seeking to locate into the City of Cincinnati. </li><li>Parking Operations- Assist in on and off-street parking initiatives including researching peer Cities, local market and assist in creation of forms to assist in program implementation. </li><li>Neighborhood Development- Assist in research of properties for neighborhood development initiatives including business district revitalization and brownfield redevelopment. </li><li>Housing- Assist in research of housing programs. Learn about the housing development process within the City of Cincinnati and the role of economic incentives for housing development. </li></ul> <p>DCED seeksto facilitate strategic development and services within the Cincinnati community that improve the lives of residents, increase business investment, and revitalize City neighborhoodsby providing financial and technical resources as well as facilitating strategic partnerships.</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>In order to qualify for the Intern/Co-op/Extern Program, a student must:</p> <ul> <li>Be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a non-citizen with proof of eligibility to work in the United States </li><li>Individuals under eighteen will require a work permit </li><li>Be enrolled in an accredited institution </li><li>Submit a City job application for employment </li></ul>
