The ELD teacher collaborates with classroom teachers in ensuring best practices for CLD students are implemented throughout the school day. This is a full-time, or 1.0 FTE position with benefits.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plans and organizes language development instruction consistent with the district curriculum. </li><li>Utilizes WIDA framework and standards in the development of lesson plans. </li><li>Employs a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including whole group/small-group or individual learning. </li><li>Collaborates with classroom teachers in ensuring best practices for CLD learners are implemented throughout the school day. </li><li>Administers required language proficiency (ACCESS) and academic achievement tests within the required time frame. </li><li>Assures proper placement in ELD courses/groups according to district guidelines. </li><li>Collaborates with district to collect and complete all required paperwork for the CLD student re-designation process and FEP Monitoring </li><li>Remains current in all district CLD related communications. </li><li>Attends IEP, 504 or other related meetings necessary for CLD students. </li><li>Assists in collecting and analyzing data for increasing student achievement. </li><li>Works towards building a positive self-image in CLD learners. </li><li>Helps the school staff to be aware of and sensitive to cultural differences of CLD learners. </li><li>Establishes and maintains communication with parents of CLD students. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License. </li><li>Colorado Department of Education "In Field" by CDE endorsement or qualifications to teach the posted subject area. </li><li>ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education, (CLDE) Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement or Master's degree in CLD. </li><li>ELD teaching experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Links to Important Job Information:</p> <p>Benefits Information</p> <p>Salary Schedules</p> <p>Leaves Information</p> <p>Non-Discrimination Notice</p> <p>All future correspondence will be handled via the email address you provided in your online application.
