<p>Lead Engineer - Gas Engineering</p> <p>Department: Gas Engineering</p> <p>Reports to: Manager - Gas Engineering</p> <p>Location: In Office, Orange CT</p> <p>The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $125,766 - $157,208</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Reviews and interprets state and federal code as they pertain to the natural gas transmission and distribution business. Also involved in various major natural gas transmission and distribution capital replacement and maintenance projects. May provide guidance to lower-level engineers and analysts.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Involved in the preparation of material specifications, standards, procedures, bid specifications, evaluation of bid proposals and managing contractors.</p> </li><li> <p>Involved in the preparation of work sketches and designs, work orders, material requisitions and cost estimates for various type projects including mains, services and meter sets.</p> </li><li> <p>Involved in the development and management of major programs or projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Includes conducting team meetings, preparing budgets and authorizations, and managing expenditures.</p> </li><li> <p>Involved in the preparation of material specifications, standards, procedures, bid specifications, evaluation of bid proposals and managing contractors.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides engineering guidance to engineering and drafting personnel, as required, to complete engineering and produce drawings for projects.</p> </li><li> <p>May review the work orders of other engineers.</p> </li><li> <p>Calculates load and pressure drop to properly size gas facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Designs service and meter requirements to accommodate customer load.</p> </li><li> <p>Represents the company on various teams or committees on state, regional or national issues.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Required Education:</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree desirable</p> </li><li> <p>Skills/Abilities:</p> </li><li> <p>Analytical and problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to multi-task.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentoring ability.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience/Training:</p> </li><li> <p>At least 5 - 6 years of related experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in piping design, metering and regulating principles.</p> </li><li> <p>Thorough knowledge of gas system construction and maintenance practices, corrosion control techniques, underground pipe locating, map reading, blueprint reading.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of state and federal pipeline safety regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Certifications:</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license</p> </li><li> <p>PE License desirable</p> </li></ul> <p>#LI-Onsite</p> <p>Company:</p> <p>CONNECTICUT NATURAL GAS CORPORATION</p> <p>Mobility Information</p> <p>Please note that any applicant who is not a citizen of the country of the vacancy will be subject to compliance with the applicable immigration requirements to legally work in that country.</p> <p>At Avangrid we provide fair and equal employment and advancement opportunities for all employees and candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, protected veteran status or any other status protected by federal, state, or local law.</p> <p>If you are an individual with a disability or a disabled veteran who is unable to use our online tool to search for or to apply for jobs, you may request a reasonable accommodation by contacting our People and Organization department at careers@avangrid.com.</p> <p>Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.
