<p>Syracuse University's Office of Human Resource's Human is seeking a service-oriented professional to join our team of HR generalists. Our HR Shared Services team consists of 18 employees and is responsible for assisting almost 7,500 staff and faculty. The HR Shared Services Representative is our campus community's first point of contact for various HR needs. The HR Shared Services Representative will assist in the communication and administration of extensive HR policies, employee benefits, and systems support to the campus community including internal HR stakeholders. Communication with employees is primarily by phone or email with the goal of providing the highest quality of service and accuracy in a timely manner. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. </li><li>Specialized knowledge in Benefits, HR Information Systems and compensation is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <p>We are looking for an organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented team player that is committed to delivering unparalleled service. In addition, you will have:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. </li><li>Highly proficient with MS Office Products and technology tools. Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems. </li><li>Proven experience working with data, running queries and reports preferred. </li><li>Strong communication and people skills. </li><li>Attentive and demonstrate sound judgment. </li><li>Provide exceptional service and manage multiple priorities by leveraging a variety of systems and tools. </li><li>Demonstrate aptitude to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team. </li><li>Work effectively with a diverse group of people including faculty, staff, and students </li><li>Project a professional image and demonstrate the propensity to diplomatically manage a wide variety of scenarios. </li><li>Possess efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>In this role, you will provide specialized assistance to a variety of employee inquiries, identify issues, and escalate as needed. Additionally, you will perform the following:</p> <p>Administrative Support</p> <ul> <li>Provide benefit administration including new employee benefit onboarding, assist with benefit changes using HRIS and vendor portals, respond to employee questions, family status changes and ensure the employee provides proper documentation. </li><li>Assist employees with in-depth and sensitive concerns regarding HR related benefits. </li><li>Ensure compliance with university polices as well as federal and state regulations. </li></ul> <p>Communication Support</p> <ul> <li>Respond to and resolve inbound calls, emails, and walk-ins from both internal and external customers </li><li>Utilize HR systems and tools to effectively communicate HR data, policies, and procedures to the campus community and HR stakeholders and leadership. </li><li>Distribute action items and escalates complex issues, as needed, to Tier II or Senior Advisor. </li></ul> <p>Transactional Support</p> <ul> <li>Review, verify, and enter data to Syracuse University Human Resources information systems. </li><li>Process changes to employee data, benefits, and compensation. </li><li>Review and analyze HR data for accuracy and compliance purposes. </li></ul> <p>Research and Audit Support</p> <ul> <li>Retrieve data from the HRIS or other reporting tools Perform audits for federal and legal compliance as well as University policies, procedures, and eligibility (compensation, system, benefit plans, pay notices, I-9, social security, etc.). </li><li>Continuous evaluation and monitoring of audits in search of opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
