<ul> <li>Requires extensive knowledge of substantive and procedural law and laws, rules and procedures applicable to operations of employing agency in order to provide legal counsel and advice to the Chief Legal Counsel, the Director of the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), Chief Communications Officer, and other executive staff of DRC on policy development and implementation relating to legal functions (e.g., federal and state litigations, etc.). </li><li>Responsible for assisting fellow staff attorneys in difficult and complex litigation and various legal proceedings. </li><li>Respond to and assist in the management of public records requests and records retention. </li><li>Investigate cases, research and prepare legal briefs, pleadings and other documents related to inmate complaints/lawsuits. </li><li>Research, compile information and assist the Office of Administration, Attorney General's office and the Department of Administrative Services on issues pertaining to public records, subpoenas, search warrants, discovery, media requests, and other document requests. </li></ul> <p>Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 18 mos. exp. as licensed attorney; 6 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques.</p> <p>Job Skills: Attorney/Legal</p>
