<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Early College allows high school students to take college credit bearing courses as part of a holistic support model. It is a program supported by the State's Equity Agenda to help level the playing field for underserved students by helping to instill the confidence and competence to succeed in career and college. We do this through early on-ramps and recruitment, scaffolded academics, wraparound supports, and co-curricular learning opportunities. The data shows that Early College is a game changer. Come work with us!</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>Teach college courses that are part of the College Planning Collaborative Early College programs in one or more of the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>American Sign Language </li><li>Education </li><li>Environmental Science </li><li>Exercise Science </li><li>Financial Literacy </li><li>Food Science </li><li>History </li><li>Latin American Art </li><li>Principles of Marketing </li><li>Oral Communication </li><li>Introduction to Psychology </li><li>Quantitative Reasoning </li><li>Reading Literature </li><li>Introduction to Sociology </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED:</p> <p>All Early College instructors receive an Orientation and ongoing support and have a Teaching Assistant or a High School Teacher assigned to their class.</p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED:</p> <p>N/A</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Courses are taught in person on one of three public high school campuses (Framingham, Milford, or Waltham), so flexibility with travel and schedule is mandatory.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>1-3 years of prior college teaching experience required </li><li>Interest in teaching, mentoring, and supporting high school students from underserved groups essential </li><li>Flexibility and nimbleness </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Spanish or Portuguese bilingual speaker </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Early college instructors are hired as adjunct faculty through the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education. The scheduled hours and pay rates vary. Current course rates are between $6,010.36 - $6,935.96 per course.</p> <p>Framingham State University conducts criminal history and sexual offender record checks on recommended finalists prior to final employment for all positions.</p> <p>Framingham State University is an equal opportunity employer.
