<p>Posted: May 7, 2025 Closed: May 21, 2025</p> <p>Employment Opportunity: Extended School Year Special Education POSITION: Middle School Special Education Teacher (Multiple) June 30, 2025-August 7, 2025 Monday-Thursday</p> <p>Shrewsbury Public Schools is currently accepting applications for part-time Special Education Teachers.</p> <p>The Special Education Teacher will provide instruction to students in Grades 5-8 across a six-week period this summer. This collaborative role is working with a team of teachers and paraprofessionals to provide the needed support. The Special Educator is the main classroom teacher and will provide a morning meeting, reading, writing, and math instruction. The classroom consists of a small cohort of students with disabilities.</p> <p>Morning hours are from 7:30am-10:30am, with an additional 30-minute prep time.</p> <p>The position will be paid at the candidate's per diem rate during the school year, or if an external candidate, at an assigned per diem rate based on experience and education. Candidates with diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, class, and/or gender background and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license </li><li>Knowledge of middle school student needs and programming </li><li>Exhibits the core values of Shrewsbury Public Schools </li><li>Works flexibly in a changing environment </li></ul> <p>Application Process: Interested external candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, unofficial copies of undergraduate/graduate transcripts, license # or unofficial copy of license if applicable, and three current professional letters of reference, including one from a direct supervisor or evaluator.</p> <p>Interested Internal candidates who are currently appointed teachers in our school system need only submit an email of interest to Kristin Herrick at kherrick@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us</p> <p>External candidates should apply via www.schoolspring.com</p> <p>The Shrewsbury Public Schools is an affirmative action employer, ensuring that its programs and facilities are accessible to the public.
