In this hands-on role, you'll inspect complex electrical distribution projects, review plans and specifications, coordinate with crews, and work directly with contractors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC). This is your chance to combine fieldwork, technical expertise, and problem-solving to make a real impact on the community.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Inspect electrical infrastructure including conduit systems, grounding, pad-mounted equipment, and service connections for compliance with plans, specifications, and NESC. </li><li>Review construction plans, drawings, and submittals, and provide field support to ensure projects meet design intent. </li><li>Coordinate with crews for system tie-ins, switching operations, or outages related to contractor work. </li><li>Maintain inspection records, field logs, deficiency lists, and project files documenting safety and quality. </li><li>Communicate with contractors to address deficiencies, schedules, and compliance expectations. </li><li>Assist engineering staff with technical reports, post-project reviews, and contractor evaluations. </li></ul> <p>Employment Status: PART-TIME</p> <p>For the complete job specification, listing essential duties and desirable qualifications, go to http://www.talgov.com/employment/hr-job-descriptions.aspx</p> <p>Minimum Training & Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED; </li><li>Five (5) years of experience in the construction, inspection or maintenance of electric transmission and distribution systems, electrical infrastructure, or related engineering work </li></ul> <p>NOTE: Experience with electric utility underground construction or electrical distribution design is highly desirable.</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Valid Class E State driver's license (or eqivalent); AND </li><li>Ability to obtain required safety or inspection certifications as deemed necessary by the department </li><li>Individuals in this classification are considered essential during emergency and storm situations and must be able to work 16 hours per day for extended periods of time and may be required to be away from their family. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$21.6689 to $58.7999/hourly.
