<p>Company:</p> <p>Providence at Home with Compassus</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>An Admissions RN is a registered nurse whose primary responsibility is to accept referrals from a variety of resources via phone and fax with additional responsibility of co-signing referrals entered by LVN's and or non-clinical intake staff, as well as coordinating the initial hospice assessments with the clinical team.</p> <p>Position Specific Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>• Prioritizes daily referrals in order to guarantee timely patient admission. </li><li>Answers telephone calls promptly and courteously. </li><li>Checks and follows up on referral on a daily basis. </li><li>Enters referral information, including medical and insurance information, into the EMR. </li><li>Verifies and obtains orders from physician as well as documents CTI information on referrals in EMR. </li><li>Ascertains if insurance is contracted with St. </li><li>Joseph Hospice Services in order to assure appropriate financial reimbursement. </li><li>Interfaces with the Insurance Verification/Billing Specialist as needed. </li><li>Communicates with Patient Care Supervisor and Patient Care Coordinator to assure coordination of services. </li><li>Keeps Pharmacy and PBM informed of admissions and faxes them the necessary documents for entry into their systems. </li><li>Applies Medicare and State Regulations pertaining to hospice when accepting a referral in order to be compliant with said regulations. </li><li>Co-signs referrals for team members who are LVN's and non-clinical staff. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>Required - Education to attain RN Licensure. </li><li>Required - 1 year Registered Nurse experience. </li><li>Preferred - 1 year Hospice experience. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. </li><li>Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications. </li><li>Language Skills: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy. </li><li>Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent communications skills. </li><li>Other Skills and Abilities: Mandatory interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills. </li><li>Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Other Skills and Abilities: Good organizational skills. </li><li>Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to multi-task. </li><li>Other Qualifications: Knowledge of hospice compliance issues, payer coverage requirements related to eligibility for services. </li><li>Other Qualifications: Preferred knowledge of hospice referral process. </li></ul> <p>Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations</p> <ul> <li>Required within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed) </li><li>Required upon hire: California Registered Nurse License (Vendor Managed) </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Adaptations can be made to accommodate team members with disabilities. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In a healthcare setting, exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and conditions typical to the field is expected. Routine use of standard medical equipment and tools associated with clinical care is essential.
