<p>The Falk College Communications Manager is responsible for producing multi-purpose content for utilization across multiple platforms and channels to promote the vision and mission of the College to internal and external stakeholders, in support of goals for recruitment and enrollment, fundraising, research and alumni engagement. He/she collaborates with Falk College, University and external partners on strategic communication projects that drive awareness and engagement, as well as elevate the College's reputation. He/she serves a key role in developing key messages and is a dynamic, strategic storyteller. The Communications Manager reports to Falk College's Director of Marketing and Communications.</p> <p>This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in relevant field required (Public Relations, Communications, journalism, English). </li><li>Five plus years' public relations, copywriting/editorial experience on multiple platforms, including print, web and social media. </li><li>Experience in project management, including photo and video production. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. </li><li>Understanding of brand management and consistency. </li><li>Internal candidates preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills Strong relationship building, collaboration and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Proficient in crisis communications management. </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe product suites, social media tools, and related Analytics. </li><li>Understanding of photo, video and web editing tools and processes. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>CONTENT PRODUCTION</p> <ul> <li>Research, write (copy)/shoot (video/photography), edit and secure approvals for multi-purpose content for utilization across Falk College channels, with an emphasis on digital platforms including website, news/stories, social media, video, email campaigns, digital screens, and Falk-internal partners. </li><li>Coordinate with Central Communications and Central Marketing to ensure Falk College content is included in University/flagship channels as often as possible. </li></ul> <p>CONTENT STRATEGY</p> <ul> <li>Determine, define and manage content priorities to ensure marketing and communications deliverables are strategic and align to goals and priorities. </li><li>Collaborate with faculty leaders to gain insight and perspective on programs, projects and people to highlight/promote. </li><li>Maintain an annual editorial content calendar that aligns to College's comprehensive content strategy. </li><li>Identify content and plan for quarterly newsletter. </li><li>Collaborate with internal/University partners, including Falk College colleagues, Central Communications, Central Marketing, AEA and college/school/unit communications professionals, and external partners to produce content for projects and campaigns. </li><li>Engage with freelance/contract professionals for graphic design, photo, video and writing support on an as needed basis. </li></ul> <p>MEDIA/PARTNERSHIP RELATIONS</p> <ul> <li>In close collaboration with Falk Director of Marketing and Communications, produce assets to fulfill sponsorship/partnership MOUs and agreements. </li><li>Work closely with Central Communications to increase visibility of and elevate reputation for Falk College in national and international media. </li><li>Produce and distribute Falk media releases, tip shits, etc. </li></ul> <p>PROJECT MANAGEMENT</p> <ul> <li>Provide project management support for assigned College deliverables. </li><li>Assist Advancement, Admissions, Industry Relations, Student Succes and other College units with general project management of communications deliverables. </li><li>Coordinate with Advancement on special projects, including giving mailers, proposals, impact reports and collateral focused on soliciting and stewarding donor support. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
