If you have relevant experience in Cost Accountant and you meet the requirements listed below, please apply today for consideration.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Under moderate supervision, provides accurate and timely financial information on product cost, assuring the appropriate assignment of costs and providing a basis for management control and decision making.</p> <p>Essential Functions of the Job:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the annual/quarterly standard cost revision, provide analysis of cost changes and set annual department rates </li><li>Audit manufacturing variance, open WIP, zero cost, GL class code integrity and scrap reports. </li><li>Investigate discrepancies to determine cause, make updates as necessary to correct data and system processing errors. </li><li>Set costs on manufactured and purchased parts. </li><li>Prepare cost estimates for new or proposed products. </li><li>Maintain and monitor machine standards and report and research any changes that occur during the year. </li><li>Set work orders for rework, training, etc. </li><li>Research and answer any question/problem regarding the cost system. </li><li>Prepare management reports as requested. </li><li>Assist in the planning and taking of physical inventory and resolving discrepancies. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of accounting principles and practices </li><li>Ability to analyze data, draw appropriate conclusions and recommend appropriate action </li><li>Ability to actively listen and to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, courteous and professional manner </li><li>Ability to work varied hours, including overtime and weekends </li><li>Understands the different techniques used to evaluate a product's cost such as the standard and traditional methods </li><li>Ability to design or create data collection systems, analyze data, draw appropriate conclusion and then analyze the data </li><li>Ability to perform a variety and complicated functions with numbers </li><li>Establish cycle counts and investigate variances that arise </li><li>Adjust inventories when physical counts differ from what the company's financial records indicate </li><li>Review standard and actual costs for variances and report variances to management for decision-making purposes </li><li>Ability to perform a variety and complicated functions with numbers </li><li>Knowledge of GMS and safety systems to ensure compliance </li></ul> <p>ALAMO GROUP CORE COMPETENCIES for LEADERS include:</p> <ul> <li>Leading Change / Change Management: Ability to drive improvement of team, division, and corporate goals and objectives through people.
