<p>Job Summary</p> <ul> <li>Assists Early Childhood Teacher in implementation of our Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum. Maintains and utilizes classroom materials and supplies to support programmatic goals. Maintains appropriate child/teacher ratios. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Works as a team member, assisting EarlyChildhood Teacher in meeting the needs ofindividual children in all aspects. Supports Developmentally Appropriate Practice as defined by Day Care philosophy and NAEYC guidelines. </li><li>Assists and supports in planning andimplementation of classroom curriculum. This will include preparation and clean up of planned and unplanned activities and event/project planning. Assumes classroom leadership responsibilities in absence of Early Childhood Teacher. </li><li>Adheres to philosophy, regulating policies and procedures as defined by MidHudson Regional Hospital Day Care Policies and Procedures Handbook, Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), Dutchess County Department of Health and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). </li><li>Actively provides nurturing, supportive care and guidance to children by addressing each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development to meet their needs. Depending on age and ability, this may include, feeding, toileting, and diapering. Maintains CPR , First Aid and MAT Certification. </li><li>Communicates in a manner which isprofessional, polite, and respectful with children, parents, administrators, co-workers, and visitors at all times. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications/Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>EXPERIENCE</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience in Early Childhood setting preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>EDUCATION</p> </li><li> <p>High school graduate or equivalent, 18 years of age or older required.</p> </li><li> <p>LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS</p> </li><li> <p>Must be cleared through N.Y.S. Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) State Central Register and N.Y.S. Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) Criminal History Review.</p> </li><li> <p>OTHER</p> </li><li> <p>If applicable, the individual performing this job may reasonably anticipate coming into contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials. Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates sound judgment, oral and written effective communication skills, positive interaction with children, parents and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Must complete 30 hours job related continuing education within each 24 month period as required by Office of Children & Family Services1. Fifteen (15) hours within the first six months of employment.</p> </li></ul>
