The company delivers trusted, innovative, and tailored solutions that support some of the world's most in demand and fastest-growing industries.</p> <p>With a commitment to legendary customer service, operational excellence, and global sustainability, Greif packages life's essentials - and creates lasting value for its colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.</p> <p>Learn more about the company's Customized Polymer, Sustainable Fiber, Durable Metal, and Integrated Solutions at www.greif.com and follow Greif on Instagram and LinkedIn.</p> <p>OUR VISION:</p> <p>Being the customer service company in the world.</p> <p>OUR PURPOSE:</p> <p>Creating packaging solutions for life's essentials.</p> <p>Job Requisition #:</p> <p>033671 Maintenance Electrician (Open)</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Start up and shuts down equipment in accordance with operation's requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide technical assistance to analyze and resolve work problems, or assists others in solving work problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Diagnose and repair or replace faulty mechanical and/or electrical/electronic components of machinery.</p> </li><li> <p>Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot instruments; both electrical and mechanical ensuring applicable repair is performed for fix.</p> </li><li> <p>Confer with maintenance supervisor to determine operational problems and efficiency of automatic control systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing equipment, and follow accordingly.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze operational problems and develops modifications in design to improve efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, direct, and record periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Help ensure compliance with PM program or schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish standards and policies for maintenance of equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>*</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) or technical training and 2-3 years of relevant experience. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skills</p> <p>Must have completed a minimum of the following courses from an accredited and approved educational source or demonstrated knowledge and skill acquired via sufficient job experience:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Electrical Safety</p> </li><li> <p>Industrial Safety</p> </li><li> <p>AC Circuits and Machinery</p> </li><li> <p>DC Circuits and Machinery</p> </li><li> <p>Electrical Troubleshooting</p> </li><li> <p>National Electrical Code</p> </li><li> <p>Hydraulics</p> </li></ol> <p>Ability to troubleshoot control circuits, motors, motor control circuits, and other electrical and electronic systems and equipment.</p> <p>Ability to install and maintain electrical systems and controls.</p> <p>Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics and apply NEC requirements.</p> <p>Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.</p> <p>At Greif, we believe that our colleagues are the center of our success. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $32.00 to $32.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases.
