<p>Overview This position plays a key role in preparing and reviewing SEC filings, supporting audit processes, and collaborating across departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Assists in the preparation and review of the quarterly earnings release and investor presentation. Supports the monthly GL close process by preparing journal entries and reconciling data and general ledger accounts in accordance with all applicable regulations and policies. Utilizes data visualization tools to prepare reports, and tests changes in enterprise data as needed. Responsibilities Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Reporting In accordance with US GAAP, prepare financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A included in SEC Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and Form 8-K. Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly earnings materials and internal management reports. Assist with the implementation and testing of new accounting standards as needed. Collaborate with departments across the bank to gather and analyze financial data for timely and accurate reporting. Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for financial statements and disclosures. Work closely with internal and external audit, providing requested documentation and supporting audit procedures. Other tasks or ad hoc reports as assigned. Accounting & GL Close Prepare and book journal entries as part of the monthly GL close process. Perform monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Perform variance analysis to identify and explain variances on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Data Utilize data visualization tools to extract, filter, and format data used in external and internal reports. Perform data testing to ensure available data meets reporting requirements after data migrations, upgrades, or other changes. Work closely with enterprise data team to communicate data defects and other data quality issues that arise. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Financial Analysis OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Financial Analysis Preferred Skill(s): Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Internal Controls, Self-motivated problem solver Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong analytical skills Comfort working with large datasets and reporting tools CPA is a plus #LI-JB1 Benefits are an integral part of total rewards and First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a competitive, thoughtfully designed and quality benefits program to meet the needs of our associates.
