If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact through your work and contributing to a mission of compassionate care, we invite you to apply today and join our Mercy family.</p> <p>The Manager, Information technology position is accountable for the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of computerized information systems throughout the organization, and is responsible for the support of the organization's strategic plans by providing efficient information collection and ensuring the data integrity of these systems. Depending on the team, the manager has responsibility for the following:</p> <ul> <li>Manages a team of Project Managers with responsibility for the successful completion of IT projects throughout the organization. Provides evaluation, prioritization, planning, financial analysis, and assignment of projects. Creates policies and processes to efficiently manage projects and ensures adherence by team members. </li><li>Manages information security policy development and maintenance; design of security policy education, training, and awareness activities; monitoring compliance with hospital IT security policy and applicable law; and coordinating investigation and reporting of security incidents. </li><li>Manages IT Systems Analysts in the data analysis, design, enhancement, build, and testing of IT systems used throughout the organization. Ensures the team is focused on maintaining systems, planning for upgrades, and responding to organizational goals and objectives. Works to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost savings. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plans and directs the implementation of major information system projects through the identification, structuring and coordination of organization-wide resources. </li><li>Manages the IT analyst and/or technical staff and performs management functions to ensure compliance with all organization and regulatory requirements (e.g. documentation, policy and procedure, JCAHO, disaster recovery, etc.). </li><li>Manages the systems analysis, process redesign and data analysis resources of the Information Technology department to deliver user friendly, cost effective information systems, quality services and timely support across the organization. Responsible, along with other IT managers, for the service level component of the IT department. </li><li>Ensures the team is working on the right projects at the right time - taking into account team and corporate priorities, resource availability, and budget constraints. </li><li>Administers department systems implementation standards to ensure efficient work-flow, well-defined policy and procedure, confidentiality of information, appropriate security access, comprehensive user education and training, integration of data for management reporting, post-implementation evaluation, cost benefit, budget containment, and optimum system performance. </li><li>Consults with a diverse group of users to assess needs, develop specifications and improve systems; carries requirements further to identify possible vendors, facilitate vendor selection, contract for and implement new information systems. </li><li>Establishes and maintains close working relationships with vendors currently providing information technology to ensure maximum benefit to the organization; assesses emerging technology to determine potential value and opportunities for the organization. </li><li>Works with IT management to manage operating and capital expenses.
