<p>Position: Associate Patient Care - Student Nurse (STNA or Non-STNA)</p> <p>Location: Adena Pike Hospital, Waverly, Ohio</p> <p>Shift: Nights- 2-12 hour shifts - Rotating weekends and holidays.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>At Adena Health, we believe exceptional care begins with exceptional people. The Associate Patient Care - Student Nurse (PCA/Student Nurse) plays an essential role in supporting our patients and care teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.</p> <p>In this position, you'll work directly with patients on a variety of care activities including:</p> <ul> <li>Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) </li><li>Safely using patient handling equipment </li><li>Measuring and documenting intake and output </li><li>Supporting with foley and external urinary catheter care </li><li>Setting up telemetry monitors, oxygen equipment, and performing blood glucose monitoring </li></ul> <p>You may also assist the nursing team with clerical duties, including communication with care providers, patients, and families-both in person and by phone. Working alongside a dedicated team and under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you'll help achieve the best possible outcomes for every patient you serve.</p> <p>This is an ideal opportunity for those who are currently in nursing school or exploring a long-term career in healthcare.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Required: High School Diploma, GED, or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.</p> <p>Preferred: Completion of a CNA, Patient Care Tech, STNA, or equivalent program, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing.</p> <p>Phlebotomy training preferred.</p> <p>Certifications & Licenses</p> <p>Required:</p> <p>De-escalation training (within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter)</p> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire)</p> <p>Preferred: Current licensure/certification as applicable</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Preferred:</p> <p>1-2 years of direct patient care and clerical experience</p> <p>Familiarity with medical terminology</p> <p>6 months of nursing assistant experience OR successful completion of an STNA or PCA prep course OR student nurse experience</p> <p>About Adena Health</p> <p>Adena Health is committed to providing trusted, compassionate care close to home.
