<p>Overview</p> <p>ABOUT THE POSITION</p> <p>VHB's Transportation team is growing and we are looking for a Traffic Signal Specialist to help design smarter, safer, and more efficient traffic systems that keep our communities moving. We're looking for a skilled professional who's passionate about signal timing, traffic safety, and making a real difference through data-driven solutions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Work of signal timing optimization and implementation to maximize transportation system throughput (using SYNCHRO, Tru-Traffic and similar programs) </li><li>Understanding of traffic signal operations including familiarity with various controller types and platforms </li><li>Provide analyses of traffic safety issues and crash reduction measures </li></ul> <p>Skills and Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills </li><li>The ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently </li><li>A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve </li><li>Excellent attention to detail </li><li>Experience with MicroStation </li><li>Expertise with Synchro and SimTraffic; experience with Tru-Traffic </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of signal design engineering experience or equivalent experience depending on level of education </li><li>7 - 10 years of experience working on signal timings and controllers preferred </li><li>Bachelor's Science Degree or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred </li><li>Experience working with Synchro and ATMS software required </li><li>IMSA Traffic Signal II certification- or able to obtain </li></ul> <p>We are VHB!
