<p>Midway University is seeking a high energy Farm Maintenance Specialist. This is a full-time, hourly position that will focus on the upkeep of pastures, fencing and equipment to support the Equine Studies program. Hours will vary based upon the needs of the farm. Some evening, weekend and holiday work will be required.</p> <p>Examples of work duties, include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain pastures for optimum growth, including mowing, harrowing, seeding, and making recommendations for herbicide and fertilizer application. </li><li>Operate, maintain, and repair various types of equipment including front-end loaders, power movers, manure spreaders, saws, sprayers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, blowers, hand pruners and pole saws. </li><li>Operate, maintain, and repair light or medium weight trucks </li><li>Operate, maintain, and repair tractors and implements used to maintain fields as needed </li><li>Light to medium duty carpentry work to repair barns, stalls, equine jumps, etc. </li><li>Regular maintenance of automatic waterers </li><li>Work alongside other people within the department and other department personnel in competing assigned tasks </li><li>Assist the Farm Manager with training students in the operation, maintenance, and repair of farm and facilities. </li></ul>
