<p>Job Description</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Surgical First Assistant will support the intraoperative surgical first assisting with all and any assigned surgical speciality teams.The role will help expedite surgical productivity, provide as second assist as needed and first assist for surgeon when residents are not available.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>High School + 2 plus years of formal training/education is required.</p> <p>Certification in Surgical Assistant/Surgical First Assistant is required.</p> <p>Graduates from a CAAHEP accredited programs go on to earn their CSA/CFA</p> <p>The following certifications may be accepted:</p> <ul> <li>National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)/CSFA </li><li>American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA)/SA-C, </li><li>National Assistant at Surgery Certification (NASC) or CCI Institute/ CRNFA </li><li>The National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA) and/or any Nationally Certified Surgical Assistance Certifications </li></ul> <p>2+ years of experience as a Surgical First Assistant in a hospital Operating Room setting is preferred.</p> <p>Other Information</p> <ul> <li>10 Hour Shifts </li><li>Rotating Weekends </li><li>Rotating Holiday Schedule </li><li>On Call Required </li><li>Career Growth Opportunities Available </li><li>Great Benefits </li></ul> <p>ECU Health</p> <p>About ECU Health Medical Center</p> <p>ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
