All City hiring decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under supervision of up-line personnel performs varied clerical work necessary in the daily operation of Providence Water; works independently exhibiting good judgment with minimum supervision; and related work as required.</p> <p>REQUIREMENT SALARY</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated data processing ability at a minimum of 35 words/minute, with a maximum of 2 errors </li><li>Prior to completion of 60 Day Trial Period must demonstrate working knowledge of technology and database systems. Including PWSB email and calendar management systems </li></ul> <p>Grade 6</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated data processing ability at 42 words/minute </li><li>Successful completion of 120 days in the position </li><li>Successful completion designated computer training, including Word, Introduction to Spreadsheets and Management of Email/Calendar, etc. </li></ul> <p>Grade 10</p> <ul> <li>Upon completion of 180 days in the position and attainment of above referenced requirements </li></ul> <p>Grade 12</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Answers incoming calls and connects to proper personnel. </li><li>Maintains sick leave report. </li><li>Prepares bid specifications/contracts. </li><li>Utilizes computer for inputting billing, meter reading, collection, and accounts payable data. </li><li>Reviews data inputted for accuracy. </li><li>Prepares title search data for title closings and inventory control. </li><li>Maintains records needed for daily and monthly reports used to meet reporting requirements of a water utility and assist supervisory personnel in daily policy decisions. </li><li>Acts as receptionist, determines business of callers, and arranges appointments or supplies necessary information. </li><li>Communicates with the general public with respect to customer billing complaints. </li><li>Researches non-technical information; prepares report of findings and disseminates information to customers. </li><li>Operates all standard office equipment. </li><li>Performs word processing duties. </li><li>Adheres to all Providence Water safety procedures. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent supplemented with business school training. </li><li>Working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. </li><li>Demonstrated data processing ability with a minimum of 35 words per minute, maximum 2 errors. (Grade 6) </li><li>Demonstrated data processing ability with a minimum of 42 words per minute. (Grade 10) </li><li>Within the 60 day trial period, ability to gain a working knowledge of departmental technology and data base systems and must demonstrate ability to utilize PW email and calendar management system. </li><li>Within and prior to 180 days of assignment, successful completion of designated computer training including Word, [Outlook] and Introduction to spreadsheets. </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and is responsible to maintain all vehicles maintenance logs. </li><li>Exhibits good oral and written communications skills. </li><li>Ability to deal with public courteously. </li><li>Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. </li></ul> <p>Training Requirements</p> <p>Upon Appointment:</p> <ul> <li>Customer Service Training </li><li>Sexual Harassment, Sensitivity, and Diversity Training </li></ul> <p>Sustainment:</p> <ul> <li>Participation in customer service training every 24 months. </li><li>Must maintain a valid State Driver's License. </li></ul> <p>EXTERNAL CANDIDATES - APPLY HERE</p> <p>CURRENT EMPLOYEES (1033 ONLY) - APPLY HERE</p>
