Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be currently enrolled as a student pursuing a Graduate level degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology or related discipline.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Schedule soil sampling collection with property owners in the City of Corpus Christi. </li><li>Explain and educate property owners about the purpose of soil sample collection. </li><li>Enter all data from soil sample information forms into Excel spreadsheet. </li><li>Review data received from laboratory and ensure data is organized for analysis. </li><li>Analyze samples collected by grouping data by zip code to make sure that the program is collecting the required number of samples in each zip code. </li><li>Analyze lab data to assess trends in nutrient concentrations by zip code. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Applicants must be enrolled and attending an accredited university or graduate school and pursuing a Graduate degree in the Environmental Science, Geology, Biology or related discipline </li><li>Must have permission of the institution at which he/she is enrolled to participate in the internship program </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Basis of Rating</p> <p>Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.</p> <p>Closing Statement</p> <ul> <li>Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. </li><li>Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi. </li><li>In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services. </li><li>This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".
